How to play

New to the table? Start here.

Every rulebook answers the same five questions. Learn to spot them and you can teach the whole table almost any game on the shelf.

  1. The goal — what does winning actually look like?
  2. Setup — how is the board, deck, or dice pool prepared?
  3. A turn — what can a player do when it's their go?
  4. The limits — what's forbidden, and what ends a turn?
  5. The finish — what triggers the end, and how is the winner scored?
